Please contact HERO at any time if you have any questions as we are here to guide and assist. We continue to work with schools to enhance compliance and mitigate risk.

School management of anaphylaxis is regulated by Ministerial Order 706.

Frequently Asked Questions

To become an anaphylaxis trainer, you need to undergo a specific training course that provides comprehensive knowledge about anaphylaxis and its management.

HERO offers a structured Anaphylaxis School Supervisor training course that covers a broad range of topics related to anaphylaxis, including recognising its signs and symptoms, understanding how to administer an adrenaline auto-injector (EpiPen) and developing risk management strategies.

Yes. In Australia, anaphylaxis staff training is mandatory for staff in schools and childcare services. This is to ensure the safety of all students, particularly those diagnosed with severe allergies.

In Victoria, staff members who have a role in caring for students with severe allergies should undergo refresher anaphylaxis training every two years.

The anaphylaxis management training is designed for school staff who are responsible when it comes to managing anaphylaxis in a school environment. This includes teachers, school nurses, administrators and support staff. The Department of Education & Training and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria fund two staff members from Victorian Government & Catholic Schools per school to undertake this training.

Staff members from Independent Schools, or staff over and above the funded two staff members per school, are also eligible, but the cost of the training will need to be covered by the school.

Absolutely. At Hero HQ, we offer both online and reduced face-to-face delivery options for anaphylaxis training. Our online course option allows participants the flexibility to learn at their own pace and in their own environment.

For those who prefer a more traditional learning format, we also provide a standard face-to-face training option, ensuring safety protocols are met while still delivering a comprehensive learning experience.
